Acceptable use policy
AkiProtect is sold for one purpose: protecting software whose distribution rights belong to the licensee. We refuse and revoke licenses for any other use.
What licenses cover
- Protecting commercial software, shareware, indie games, and B2B tools you own or have a license to distribute.
- Protecting in-house tools used inside your organization.
- Open-source projects whose maintainers wish to ship a hardened build.
What licenses do not cover
- Packing malware, ransomware, spyware, info-stealers, RATs, droppers, loaders or any code intended to compromise systems or users.
- Packing modified copies of third-party software you do not have the right to redistribute.
- Concealing code that violates app-store, marketplace, or platform policies.
- Producing builds intended to evade antivirus, EDR, or security telemetry.
Enforcement
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or revoke any license at our discretion. We cooperate with law enforcement and abuse reports. Submitted samples and customer information are retained for the duration of the license period for compliance purposes.
